Your Altar - Psalm 84

LifeThought
Sparrow Sudipta Karmakar

The sparrow she has found a place
The swallow for herself, a nest
Where she may safely keep her young
At your altar Lord — my king and my God
At your altar Lord

So lovely is your place of rest
My soul it longs and faints, my flesh
And heart they are still crying out
For your altar Lord — my king and my God
At your altar Lord

They that dwell in your own house
They will still be praising you
Blessed are they for praising you
At your altar Lord — my king and my God
At your altar Lord

She whose strength is found in you
Whose heart will always keep your ways
From strength to strength she goes each day
At your altar Lord — my king and my God
At your altar Lord

The vale of tears becomes a well
Of gushing hope and sweeter pools
Of blessed rain for those weep
At your altar Lord — my king and my God
At your altar Lord

For you my God, my sun and shield
Grace and glory come from you
No good will you withhold from me
At your altar Lord — my king and my God
At your altar Lord

A thousand days of worldly joy
Cannot compare to meeting you
A single night in worship sweet
At your altar Lord — my king and my God
At your altar Lord
